Joi Imobhio

Policy Strategist

Joi Imobhio is a visionary activist committed to dismantling systems of racism and white supremacy to liberate marginalized communities. She is a proud lifelong Chicagoan and an alumna of Western Illinois University where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degree in political science.

Joi serves as the Policy Strategist. Her work includes cultivating relationships and strategies to develop, design, and implement policy solutions and programs that combat systemic barriers to equity and fight for justice.

Before joining Impact for Equity, Joi served as the Deputy Director of the Workers Center for Racial Justice where she used grassroots power-building and movement strategy to implement policies around criminal justice reform.

Joi is passionate about building bridges to create transformative change and create a society where everyone can thrive.
